"MY Old shoes"
(Open Edition)
Approximately 3" long x 3" deep x 1-1/2"
high
I sculpted "My Old Shoes" as I stood in the streets of Arizona at an art
festival. I decided, as I set up my booth the day before the show,
that I wasn't going to be uncomfortable by wearing my cowboy boots for three
days on the hard asphalt of 5th Avenue. At one point in the show,
I looked at my miniature bronze of "Cowboy Boots"
on display and then I looked down at my hiking tennis shoes and it kind of
made me laugh. Without really thinking, I started sculpting the piece.
When I made the shoes, I was just goofing around. I originally never
t intended to cast the piece but after many of my friends saw the sculpture
and insisted that I cast them, I decided to listen to them. |
